Chicken is the tried and true food served at almost every wedding that fits into almost every budget. Chicken is so versatile that you can have it any way.

Blackened chicken

I would stick to the basics

Salad
Fruit
Grilled Chicken
Green Beans
Red Potatos
Bread
Water or Ice Tea all Around

I wouldn't make any exceptions for anyone...make the dressing on the side and if people don't want the chicken..they can eat the salad or the fruit and so be it.

Don't break your back over food if you ask me. Most people get drunk anyways and can't even remember what you served

Ask you friend a family for catering suggestions and then pick your top three. Make appointment with each and give your price range, then allow them to make suggestions for your price range. Have a taste test with you and your fiance and decide from there. I would suggest food for all type of people from children to vegans.
