I'm going back home in a couple of weeks and i haven't been back there in about 7years. I'm wanting to catch up with old friends and see everyones family's would it be wrong to catch up with an old boyfriend to see how he is doing how much he has changed or should i call him first and ask him if he would like to see me?

I think calling first would be the wise thing to do...he might be married and it could cause problems.
That way you will know if it is cool to stop by and catch up with him too.

I think that it all depends on how things ended between you two. If breaking up was a mutual decision and everything went well, then I think that it's ok for you to talk to him and see how he's been... After all, it has been 7 years. But, if he broke up with you or you broke up with him and it didn't end pretty, then I think that you should probably call him first and see if he would like to see you and talk.

No, you two can still be friends, but if i were you i would call him in advanced to see what's going on first. Alos, if he has a new girlfriend, make sure not to visit him when she's around. That might be really uncomftorable. Good Luck!

There is nothing wrong with that but if you are seeing someone right now you might ask him how he feels about it other then that its ok to be friends with an ex

If you got married, then dont worry about talking with him
otherwise, have him invited to a "welcome home" party and then it will be easy to catch up on life
