Question about installing Windows XP?

Question

After choosing the partition where I will install Windows XP, 4 file systems appear for the partition I chose. They are these:

1) Format the partition using the NTFS file system (QUICK)
2) Format the partition using the FAT file system (QUICK)
3) Format the partition using the NTFS file system
4) Format the partition using the FAT file system

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN “1” AND “3”?
I heard that “1” formats faster, is it true?

WHICH ONE IS BETTER, "1" OR "3"?

Choose the third one. It's better, because it wont just partition part of it, but It will do it all at the same time. The difference is the time that it will take to do it. I suggest the third choice. I've reformatted computers many times, that's the best one to choose.

Yes, the choices 1 and 2 will format more QUICKly than the choices 3 and 4. In gaining time, you sacrifice thoroughness. If this hard drive had a previous OS on it, go for 3. If it is new and you already ran the manufacturer's setup/format utility, then use 1.

1 will format quicker, but will leave some information behind on hard drive. 3 will erase everything before installing Windows XP. I would recomend 3, but make sure you back up all information you want on a DVD or Cd.

3 is better but it takes a while. It does the job more thouroughly than quick. When formatting my computer i ususlly do 3 unless im in a rush.

use 3...it is definitely the better option, however 1 is faster, but i wouldn't recommend that.
