You don't fall for people you meet, you fall for them after you date them for some time and get to know them. You sound more normal that your friend.

Love never happens overnite. You can feel a strong physical attraction to someone, but love goes much deeper. I'm a firm believer that people need to establish a true friendship first.
Then, progress the relationship along the way to a deeper level. Have you ever wondered why so many relationship just don't last very long? It's because people have to like each other first BEFORE they start saying they love them. I know people that jump from relationship to relationship looking for the perfect person for them. What usually ends up happening is the relationship turns into a crash and burn before they even got to know each other deeply. Being in love is a very serious thing.

When you go swimming do you dip your foot first to test the water temperature?
Dating is the same way, take your time and test the water, you are under no obligation to fall for someone just because you're dating.
