What is the rule for obtaining a Georgia driver's license when you turn 18 but never had a permit before? Do you need a permit? and if you do how long would you have to wait to get your license?

The process is different if you are 18 or older. You should check out the link below because it outlines the process for how to get a GA license for the first time if you are at least 18. Those who are under 18 have to go through the graduated licensing process instead.

I'm pretty sure it's the same as Alabama's where you have to have to have your permit for 6 months before you can get your license.
