A Remington 30.06. It is pretty versatile. I am not sure on what you plan to hunt but this should do most everything you want.

I've hunted a lot of moose. Last year was my first successful dall sheep hunt. Used a 257 roberts. Always like high powered Leopolds, but haven't had the money to upgrade on this gun yet. When I do it'll be quite a combo. At the range with a rest, I shot 50 yd increments out to 375 yds. Dropped about two inches with a five inch group. Good question! And some good answers too.

Custom 98 Mauser tuned action chambered in 308 caliber with a custom Italian Walnut Mont Carlo stock and a 26 inch heavy sport tube, or my Ruger M77 or even my TC Encore.
These are my most favorite to take out, as to conventional rifles.
But if were talking muzzle loaders than that easy all 3 of my TC weapons.
You did state rifles so I will leave it here and not start listing pistols.
I don’t play golf but thank in the same line as they do, there is no one perfect club so I have several and then some.

God how I do love living in the land of the free and home of the brave, where we have the choice to own as many weapons in as many styles and calibers as we wont.

That my opinion.

Savage 111 in 30/06 as far as a rifle. Shotgun would have to be the Mossberg 500.

I have a Reminton 597 .22 and love it for small game like squirrels and some coons. Also have a Mossberg 100 ATR .243 and love it for coyotes and such. We cant hunt deer with a rifle in Illinois, but a .243 or .270 works pretty well on them.

For general hunting in the USA and Canada, I use a Sako "Finnbear Deluxe" in .300 Winchester Magnum. It has enough power for most game I hunt and long range when needed. There is a great variety of bullets for it for most purposes. It is a bit big for varmints, but there are 110 and 125 grain bullets. For moose and grizzly bear, I use 220 grain ones. For Kodiak bear, I like to move up to at least .340 Weatherby, but I rarely hunt them. For Africa, I take two Weatherbys:.378 and .460. No one gun will suit all game, but the .300 will do for most North American hunting.
