Hi Lancelot,

Have you spoken to your neighbors about it? Try discussing this situation with your neighbors, and if it still doesn't work, consider consulting the police or animal control to see what you can do about this situation. Hopefully your neighbor will be totally understanding and cooperative and try to keep the dogs away from your chickens.

Good luck! :)

You need to put up a fence on your property. Also be sure that the chicken coop is out of sight for the dogs and that there is a latch that works well. If this does not work you may want to relocate your chickens to an area where the dogs cannot reach, or create a pen for the chickens a big enough pen so they can live there, and maybe you could put their house in the pen (it needs to be big enough) If this does not work you need to confront your neighbor.

If you haven't, talk to your neighbor and see if they'll either keep the dog inside at night or put them on a leash or something.
Do you have a fenced in place for your chickens? If you don't, it might be a good idea to build or buy somewhere for them to stay during the night that will be safe from dogs.

Breed has no longer something to do with it. your neighbor's canines had extra aggression probable by way of fact he became no longer neutered, and on an analogous time as he became continuously outdoors of your sources, or in the front backyard, that became superb. yet he crossed the line, so some distance as your canines have been worried faster or later, and that they defended themselves and their territory. in spite of the reality that your canines would be neutered, they nevertheless have territorial instincts, purely no longer as good. Your neighbor could have stored a closer eye on his canines while he first started getting into your backyard. that's an fairly preventable subject that did no longer could ensue, if he fenced his backyard, kenneled the canines, truthfully watched and stored his canines in his very own backyard! Your neighbor of course did no longer care approximately his canines, and because of this you're extra dissatisfied related to the full concern. he could by no ability had a canines to start with.

Tell you neighbors the issue, and call the cops. Ask the nieghbors to do something or else you will protect your animals by killing thiers. If they don't respond, shoot the dog with a real gun and bury it and let your neighbor know what happened. Happened to my dogs cause we couldn't keep them from breaking out and killing the neighbors chickens, they never messed with our chickens though.

if u put a fence around ur chickens, that could help or u can either make a lot of disturbing noises to scare off the dogs or spray water from ur hose at both ur neighbors and dogs as soon as they step foot on ur property!

Have you talked with your neighbors about the problem? If so, and they refuse to help, you may have a lawsuit. You should consult an attorney and discuss how your property (chickens) is being destroyed by the dogs.

Look outside and search for its entry points and try to close them with wood or something hard. Then at night try to put your chicken where they belonged and make sure to check there too. If it still keeps getting in then just call the police.

When we had a "friendly" local predator taking a chicken a night, we shut the chickens in the chicken house (closing all exits tight) every night at dusk and let them out in the AM. No more dead chickens.....
