At first it looked like a pimple, buts now it looks like its growing. It looks like pimples on top of pimples. I don't know if this is relevant, but he's a male chihuahua, he may be overweight, I don't know.

It could be a "sebacious" (sp?) gland. These glands occasionally will swell up and it kinda looks like a cyst or pimple. The vet can lance this but I wouldn't recommend that you do it because it could become infected.

I have a basset hound that has several of these bumps. It doesn't seem to bother him much and the vet doesn't seem to be too upset about them either.

If it's fleshy and soft and wobbles under your fingers don't worry. However, if it feels like a hard pea go and get it checked out. Our dogs have always had lumps and bumps as they've gotten older.

Is he exposed to cats? If just the tip of the cat claw gets under the skin, it can cause infection. Otherwise, perhaps a mole? At any rate, I would take him to the vet to be sure, it could even be a cyst.

It could be a cyst or an allergic reaction. You'd better take him to the vet either way - it sounds uncomfortable.

my dog is a rat terrier and she had one of them. we watched her and she was scratching at it. we took her to the vet and they said it just would go away on it's own. but i don't know if your dog has the same thing. i would take it to your vet just to be safe. Hope this helps

it's probably just a cyst... my dog gets them sometimes... they are usually caused by diet irregularities... feed him yoghurt and it will make it go away... that's what i do for my dog... one individual size vanilla yoghurt a day...
