I didn't see the video, but I heard about it.
This is NOT typical police work. Most law enforcement agencies put candidates through an exhaustive background check, psychological testing and training to hire only those fit in every sense of the word to do the job. Most, not all. Some hiring mistakes are made, some officers do not handle the job well, some situations change and the officer is not fit for duty.
However, there are the vast majority who do the job, do it well and are successful in their careers. Those officers aren't splashed all over the media. They don't sell magazines, band width and air time. You are painting the profession with a very broad brush.

The cop was wrong and WILL be punished both criminally AND lose his job as a result of it.....which is good. I disagree with the other answer though that stated the bartender will receive compensation from the city..... she WILL NOT, there is no nexus or tie to the employer while he is out drinking. He was not in uniform, nor )to my knowledge) did he identify himself as an officer, nor was he performing any duty(ies) on the behalf of or request of his employer. HE'S ON HIS OWN!

He's out on about 70k bail. He will lose his job and he will probably see some jail time. The woman will also see a nice settlement from the city. And there's nothing typical about what he did, jackhole.

He was charged with a felony and will lose his job.
And this is anything but "typical" for the police. Don't be so gullible, you only see what the media wants you to see. 99% of police officers are decent people.
