I was in the Navy and the Marine Corps is a branch of the Navy - but I gotta say they deserve their own branch because they are the most disciplined hardest working of all the military. You do have your exceptions like the Navy Seals , and the Army's Rangers. but I'd put the Marines up against any countries army without hesitation.

It's no myth.

Any Marine will tell you it has the most difficult recruit training. Compare the length of recruit training (and the curriculum) for each of the branches. Compare officer selection and training as well. The Marine Corps has earned its reputation throughout history as being the hardest, most competitive. Who is sent in first? Who guards the U.S. Embassies? Who guards the President (aside from the Secret Service). No myth - just reality.

But don't take my word for it - find out for yourself by volunteering for a 13-week vacation at Parris Island, SC!

There is absolutely NO doubt that the Marine Corps is the hardest, they train harder than EVERY branch of the military, from their Boot Camp all the way to their deployment. This doesn't mean they are necessarily the best, but they do train the hardest and have the strictest physical requirements.

It is true in general, but there are still things in other branches you can do that are harder. Such as Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, Air Force PJs, Army Special Forces, etc. But over as a branch the Marine Corps is the hardest.

No matter what, they are not scum.

I hope you realize that many Marines died so that you can sit at your computer and type this kind of junk. You owe the Marine Corps and all the military branchs a big apology and an even bigger thank you.

The United States Marine Corps is 'THE' elite fighting force in the world today. They do more with less than any other unit on the planet. I'm glad that when the crash comes, they will assume control! 2012 getting nearer!

USMC is for United States Marine Corps.

SCUM is what you are for insulting our brave and dedicated military personnel in such a manner.

It all depends on what your personal fears are. I you are afraid of heights then I would suggest stay out of the Air Force. If you don't want to be deployed anytime soon then stay out of the Marines and Army.
