I saw a cake recipe that recommended using diet sprite instead of the recommended ingredients. Has anyone ever tried this and if so, how much diet sprite do I use?

I've not tried diet sprite, but one of my favorite cakes is a 7 Up pound cake. So I guess you could use diet sprite. The recipe I use is on this site.

I haven't heard of sprite but I have heard of 7 up cake.

Here is the recipe

1 1/2 cups butter, soft
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups flour
2 teaspoons lemon extract
3/4 cup 7-Up soda

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Stir in flour; beat in lemon extract and 7Up.
Pour batter into well greased and floured 12 cup fluted mold.
Bake at 325 degrees for 60 minutes to an hour and 25 minutes.
Cool; dust with conf.
sugar if desired.

I know alot of people who do this and you can use any type of diet or regular soda, I think the general rule is one can.
