Why do men and women cheat on their lover?

Sometimes just for the adrenline rush... Maybe sometimes for fun.. maybe just horny, and definitly a lot of the time because they can get away with it.......

Most cheating has to do w/ someone not getting something from the relationship, usually unconsciously, and finding it elsewhere. In mho, when someone in a relationship cheats, there is already a problem in the existing relationship that they may or may not be acknowledging. Being "unfaithful" is someone's way of dealing w/ that lack. Problem is, like an egg-sucking dog, once the "habit" of cheating is started, that party won't be able to NOT do it again. (Sorry about the analogy. Not intended to mean only the males cheat. A dog can be male OR female!) The short answer would be because they're not getting what they FEEL they need from the relationship they're in. And no, I don't feel blame is to be placed on either party.

One of the main reasons men cheat is because of their personal insecurities. Sometimes we feel as if we're in competition with every guy. We act like it doesn't bother us when a guy approaches you or compliments you, but it does. We start to get the feeling, "will she give in to temptation?" and we figure, we might as well too (even though that's not the case) so its even. It's a bad way to think but that's the way it works with me (unfortunately).
We always question ourselves are we settling? Is there something better out there for me? So sometimes we test the waters out there but then realize it's too late. We end up playing ourselves.

because they get a rush from doing something they aren't suppose to, it's excitement for their boring life. there is a line that is drawn that says you can't do this or this or this. when they do it, they feel free that they aren't trapped anymore by their own promises. I am only guessing here, I am a person of my word so when I say I will do something , I usually do. cheaters will give you no idea of why they do it, they will only try to justify what they are doing. if they admit they are doing something wrong, they will crumble. they can't bear the idea it is their own fault. some people just like to screw more than their partners do, you can't invigorate their libido, so they supplement their sex from somewhere else. right or wrong, it's not my place to judge them. things are never what they appear on the surface.

Well I've heard of lots of different reasons from both sides. Everything from they weren't getting it at home to they do it because they can. You just really never know. Some say everyone cheats.

1. Insecurity
2. Fear of losing there "spark"
3. Not happy in a relationship
4. Love for different people
5. Holding on to a past relationship
6. revenge
The list goes on, it is all about the person and there situations and outlooks on life.

the real answer? because people don't know what they want. they want to try different things and because people get bored easily they think, "hey, why not? I'll just have three girls at once! No one will ever know" some people have no sense of cause and effect. they don't know any consequence. it's a sad fact of life.
