Ok, right now I’m trying to install Windows XP to a computer. I chose a partition already. Now it says, “select a file system for the new partition”. And these are the options:

Format the partition using the NTFS file system (QUICK)
Format the partition using the FAT file system (QUICK)
Format the partition using the NTFS file system
Format the partition using the FAT file system

WHICH FILE SYSTEM SHOULD I PICK? Which would you recommend me? Is there a difference?

For XP, you need the NTFS file system. The quick and non-quick is the format it does before installing the new OS and is completely up to you. You HAVE to choose NTFS file system though to install XP.

NTFS is the new and most usable file system, and there is no big difference between choosing NTFS file system (QUICK) which i would recommend or the one which is slower in formating..

Hope it helps,

i always use ntfs ... i usually dont use quick ... and fat32 is actually a faster file system but it has a 4gb limit on files ... so in these modern times of large files it can be a problem ..
