While you're at MEPS they will have you take the asvab, probably before anythring else.

I took to the asvap at a local school, as far as meps go you will need to be signed up by a recruiter to make sure you qualify/eligible to go into the armed forces.

so in short:
ASVAP= no recruiter needed but they can set it up for you
MEPS=yes you need the recruiter

If you didn't take it in high school, you should be able to do it right at MEPS. Good luck! :-)

a recruiter has to sign you up, you cannot just show up.
