why do guys tell you they like you then tell others that they dont? guy responses, please?

this guy i like told my friend and sister that he likes me but if one of my friends come up to him and ask him if he likes me he says no. is he just messing with me?

He is not messing with you....he is messing with them. In general a guy won't say he likes a girl unless he does. No guy wants to be know for likeing a girl he does not like. Guys tease each other about this all the time(generally that they like the fat or ugly girl).

So naturally he tells one of your friends that he does not like you. It's none of her businesses anyway.
