My new boss wants to meet my family. The last time a boss of mine met my family, the kids didn't like him and it went downhill from there. He ended up with mustard all over his shirt ( I won't go into detail). I'm afraid my kids are not going to like thsi boss and play some kind of prank on him too. My 5 older kids (age 14-19) may not like him, but they keep their thoughts to themselves (well, at least until after he leaves the house). The 3 youngest kids (age 10 mo., 2, and 3) probably couldn't care less. It's my 10 kids ages 6-12 that I'm scared about. how can i get them to behave before, during, and after dinner? I really want my boss to like me and not get off on the wrong foot with him.

5 kids between 14 & 19 and the 3 youngest ones I can see, but 10 kids 6 thru 12, is that genetically possible? Are some of them from previous marriages? Sorry if that's personal, it just blows my mind! Anyways, you might just forwarn your boss ahead of time that your kids can get a little rowdy. Then, threaten your kids within an inch of their lives if they ruin it!JUST KIDDING! Seriously though, you do need to let them know there will be consequences for any of their actions they choose to take. Be firm and stand your ground. Whatever happens, follow thru! If they are good, they will be rewarded, if bad, whatever punishment you think works for each child.
I wouldn't go to a restaurant, (public humiliation) (unless your kids tend to act better in a public place.) If you have dinner at your home, your boss AND you may feel more comfortable AND your kids can be sent to their rooms if needed! Hope this helps a little. Hey! If all else fails, maybe you'll be lucky your boss has a grrrreattt sense of humor! Say something like, "you know kids. Hehehe?" Oh, one more thing, make a great dessert. Sometimes good food overcompensates for any bad behavior! LOL

I think this is a parenting problem. Your kids should not have had the options to do anything with mustard including your boss. You should sit down and have a serious talk with them and let them know that if they are not on their best behavior, you loose their job and they don't eat. Plain and simple but it's the truth!

That is a lot of kids and close together in ages, what I would try would be to warn them from the beginning. Tell them that he will be coming around your house for dinner. Then tell them that if they misbehave, that there will be consequences for their actions, whether it is good or bad. Hope it helps!
