During your life, your good and bad actions are tallied and make up your karma. When you die, if you have good karma, you get reincarnated one step up (to a "better" animal, or to a person higher up in society), and bad karma gets you reincarnated downwards (like to an insect). When you're high enough and you die with good karma, your spirit leaves your body and is united with the force/god thing that created everything. My Hindu friend taught me all of this.
*edit
There are many deities in Hinduism, but they are all just incarnations of the one main all-powerful god thing I mentioned before.

It is to fully grasp Hindu Morality, that's the legislation wherein one is moved to 1 position and and one more because the universe, being incarnate. Discovery of the Rta, the religious mechanics. We don't have colleges that instruct this in America nor boost whatever approximately significance of soul and the way it determines our subsequent existence, for we are living in materialism and chaos. I am new to hinduism, however I do presently name myself a Buddhist Hindu. I learn, Bhagavad G?t?, and accept as true with close to it all. Give it a learn. It discusses the goodness of the soul, the perfect realities, and what that implies for the one that does the travel and realizes him/herself as Atman.

In Hinduism, Heaven/Hell depends on the way you live your life, of you do a lots bad deeds(Deeds are known as Karma), then you incarnate as an some other species/animal, if you do good deeds(good karma), then born into good healthy rich, kingly families(all the presidents, celebrities, kings/queens must've done been good people back in the past life to get what they have!)
