how long would it take for small pieces of glass to decompose?

Glass wont decompose, it will only get smaller in particle size. Glass is basically amorphous silica. If you ground it up you could call it sand. And no the smaller pieces wont decompose either.

If I recall, glass does decompose, albeit very slowly. It takes about a million years.

Styrofoam does not decompose. It may break down into tiny tiny pieces, but it is still Styrofoam.

I have a bottle in the desert that was near 100 years old and it had a blue tent but not showing any decomposition.
