I wish I could tell you this thought is correct, but honestly there's a great majority of guys who go out and ruin the concept of bein a guy for the rest of us.
If the guys are bad in high school, they'll just get worse once they're in college and have more freedom to act like jerks, and have their first full access of beer and whatnot.
It's not easy, but there are honest and truthful men out there, we just don't go around making as big of a scene as the jerks.
Also, don't be too discouraged, these guys in high school are guys you've grown up with for years in the same town. Once you graduate and move onto college or work or whatever you'll see the playing field will become much more broad.
Happy hunting, hope you find what you're looking for.

It depends on the people you meet. The maturity level of a person is also cannot be judged by just seeing them and how do u figure out a person is thinking the same way as you are assuming it.
You have different people thinking in hundred different ways. And guys dont always go for looks but ofcourse the first point of attraction is through physical appearance but this should not be taken for granted that guys are only up for the looks.
But normally when you spend time with them you get to know their real personality and there are 3 ways in which you can judge a person's personality.
1. Travelling with them on a long journey.
2. By being a guest at their place for 3 days
3. The third and the most effective way is do a financial dealing with them like anything just borrow or give some money to them.
I bet you will get to know the real character of a person if you follow these 3 ways.

There will be some guys who mature faster than others. In college, there's defintely your share of guys who just want to party and hook up with as many willing females as possible. Then there are others who are realizing there's more to life and want to find someone to share it with. They'll look more at personality and common interests than appearance and go from there. You're young yet. Give it some time. I would say concentrate on what YOU want in life rather than trying to find a guy. Doing that, without even trying, I'm sure you'll find someone you're interested in who's interested in you for you.

boys never progress past the age of 12.
oh, just kidding...
but they do act exactly like they are in high school throughout most of college too. and the way they act in high school is a good predictor of how they will act later. If a boy is only concerned about how you look... he doesnt deserve you. Leave him alone.
Remember... the right one is more than worth the wait. You set standards and priorities and absolutely DO NOT COMPROMISE any of them for any guy. The right one will respect you and love you for WHO you are, not WHAT you are or what you can DO for him.
Hold out for a hero babe, and never settle!!!!

Just my experience, it gets a LITTLE better out of high school but not much. When I was in my mid 20's I dated guys 25-26 and they still really didn't know what they wanted--when I met my husband at the time he was 33 and I have to say men in their 30's are a whole world of difference!! Good luck.

You have to understand something about men: they get turned on by visual things. The way a woman looks is the first thing they think about. It takes a lot for them to be able to have strong feelings for someone who doesn't initally turn them on. However, they will start to see you as beautiful once they get to know you, if you a smart and witty and intelligent and a fun person to be around. So don't lose hope. They don't mean to be so superficial, they just can't help it sometimes.

I wouldn't waste my time on guys right now because all they'll do is screw you up... I would wait until you're at least a senior in college before jumping into anything serious (serious means sleeping with men or moving in with them). Guys are the same as they are in High School but things do change, you'll find your niche.

Life isnt fair. Get over it. We as people are slow learners and have to be burned a couple of times before we realize that looks dont really matter. Just hang it there.

Ummm......NO. Truth is, not EVERY boy in high school go for girls based on looks just as much as it is true NOT every college guy goes for girls with personality. Whatever you do, don't get discouraged. Don't let this affect your self-esteem.

No when they get in college, their hormones turn on at full strength until near the end of it they get serious. You'll meet some that are serious though, just depends where you look.
