Hi darling ... lamb is baby sheep, hence lamb chops come from baby sheep. Now, in regards to mutton, that may refer to either the meat of a sheep, or in parts of Asia, the meat of a goat, or in Iran, it is the meat of an infidel - which is a non believer or a non Muslim, just so you know. ;)
And yes, I love lamb. It's an acquired taste however. Either you love it, or you hate it. I don't think there's any inbetween. It definitely has a unique taste ... a bit game-y.

RE:
Are lamb chops baby sheep?
I can't find any info whether lamb chops are actually baby sheep or adult animals (I can only assume from the name.)
Is mutton the same? Is mutton used to describe different meats/animals depending on the country?
I have never tried lamb chops....your opinion....are they any good?

Sometimes they are lamb, sometimes they are mutton (sheep older than 2 years) labelled as lamb. Same animal, different age. I don't know if there's a way you can tell how old animal was that the particular cut of meat came from.
I love lamb chops. They need to be cooked right, like everything, else, but I really enjoy them. My husband can't get around the lamb thing, though. I guess he's not as at peace with his inner predator as I am.

Yes, lamb is baby sheep. The difference between lamb and mutton is similar to the difference between veal and beef. You have to try lamb to know if you like it. Some people do and some people don't just like with everything else. Personally, I think it's good. I don't find it fattier than any other meats.

Yes, lamb chops are baby sheep. I believe mutton is just another name for lamb. I think lamb is one of those meats that you either like it or you don't. It has a very distinct flavor.

No.........they are definetly NOT baby sheep
Lamb means one...........sheep more than one lamb.
Mutton and lamb are the same where I come from.
I've tried several times and do not like.It has a flavour all it's own and has a distinct odour when cooking.

Yes, they are baby sheep. Mutton refers to adult sheep.
And I don't know about the taste, to me it seems weird to eat sheep. (I have no such problem with beef, pork, chicken or turkey..... kind of odd)
I wouldn't eat goat, either.
