The Vedas are the oldest scriptural texts of Hinduism. They are also arguably the oldest surviving scriptures in the world. If the Bible is the only true religious scripture why is it outdated by scriptures of a different religion?

All religions have got parts right, and parts wrong. It's the discrimination and the arrogance that only you are right and people who think differently are wrong that is unholy.

A friend sent me this poem once, it's beautiful and encompasses exactly what I think:

Ten thousand paths may lead to god, what right is mine to say that he who fails to walk with me has missed the only way.

What right have I to irrigate such grass of finite mind and boast others vainly seek the god I seek.

How would the god I love and trust point out to only me, the way all men travel must or die eternally.

I'm not so wise that he denies the light to all save me while other hear

I'm not so wise that he denies the light to all save me while other hearts as true as mine he loves to a less degree.

So if the path we thread should lead to bright cathedrals rise or weathered shrine or rustic shrine point upwards to the skies.

Each sincere traveller shall arrive, where lights of welcome shine and millions will be there, who walked, a different path then mine.

Wikipedia states, "The Vedas are arguably the oldest surviving scriptures in the world. Most Indologists agree that a long oral tradition existed long before they were written down by the second century B.C."

Though the beginning of the oral tradition falls anywhere between 2500-600 BC, The actual written word did not come about until about 200BC. Contrast this with origin of the written Word of God, complied by Moses during 13th century BC.

Your premise is not provable.

I don't think that the Veda were around before Adam, which they claim. The numbers tossed about in those books are up for interpretation, to say the least. I sometimes wonder why these things have only been discovered recently about the Vedas, and why no one noticed them before, when, technically, they should have always been known.

The Bible goes back to the beginning of man. We have no idea how it got passed down to Moses, but we know that it did. Job is supposed to be the oldest surviving book and is thought to have been written around the fourth century B.C. Parts of the Bible were probably written down before then, even before the flood, perhaps by Adam or Seth.

The Vedas are said to have been written down in the second century B.C., but many think that it was created around 600 B.C. and it is said to reveal prior events. Either date would make them considerably younger than parts of the Bible.

Well, the literature can not save your perishing soul.
Sickness is very old it existed even before veda, that does not mean sickness is good, but there is God in Heaven who provided the remedies. reached out to the people and healed them and is still healing people. He sent HIs only begotten Son as a sacrifice for the people of this world. Those who believe in Him and are Baptized shall be saved.

Duh! There is no one true religion, just arrogant religious idiots! Religions were created to help control people and in some cases to help guide the human race to be better.... unfortunately, western religions like christianity have been distorted throughout history, to suit personal gains and have caused many wars, murders and in-justice. We all know this and yet people still blindly follow the leader. I believe that if you have a religious belief you should keep it to yourself... the world would be a much happier place without any religion!

The Veda cannot prove any divine origin.

Because the Bible is the holy text of one religion, which is best understood in the context of human history AND of other religions.

Outdated doesn't equal truth. God raised the roots of our faith in Abraham during a time when everybody and their grandma were worshiping many gods.

It does not matter how old the Vedas are. What matters is that Jesus is the perfect embodiment of the love of God for all of us. God loves all humans -- Hindus included. Out of love for all of us He sent His Son Jesus to save us and to bring us to eternal life. God is love. His love is made complete in Jesus.

Older isn't better when it comes to science. Why should it be so with religion?
