Yes, this sounds very much like anxiety.

One thing you can do to help is deep breathing technique : Take a deep breath in slowly hold it for 5 seconds then slowly release. Repeat this 3 times.

To make sure you are breathing deeply, hold one hand on your stomach, it should rise when you take a breath in if you are doing it correctly.

Try to repeat this a few times a day. The thing is, with anxiety, you tend to breathe quite shallow breaths but are not really aware of it, so if you can get that breathing back on track you will feel less anxious.

Hope that helps

This can happen if you're retaining water, and so it may be unconnected with anxiety and meds (although check the side effects). If you retain enough water, it will start to fill your lungs. Quick check: press firmly above your ankle to the inside of your shin (against the bone) and if you aren't retaining water, the skin will spring back. If you are, you'll have squeezed the water out of the tissues and it will leave a dent that fills in slowly. This could be a sign of one or both of two things. First, your diet has too much salt. Second, you may have limited kidney function. The check for that is a simple urine test that hardly anybody reading this has ever had. They might test when you're 50 or so when screening to find out the cause of another problem. Some people find out that an infection passed unnoticed when they were four and trashed their kidneys 40 to 50 years ago. The sooner they know, the sooner they can act to preserve what they have. The National Kidney Foundation has a program called KEEP (Kidney Early Evaluation Program) and you can check their site at http://www.kidney.org/news/keep/index.cfm or call (800) 622-9010 for information about screening locations and dates. Or ask your doctor at your next visit.

Thats a classic symtom of anxiety. You did all the right things and got a physical. The doctors did the right thing and checked for other causes, but treated the most likely one.
Give the meds a chance to work - they can make a huge difference.
Also - try journaling. There are some specific ones for people with anxiety that might help.
Good Luck

Have you been checked for asthma?

I have been living with asthma for quite some time now and it took doctors a while to figure out what it was and it was a source of anxiety for me. Just the mere thought of knowing I had a hard time breathing was enough to make me panic even more.

What kind of anxiety medication are you taking?

Benzodiazepines are indicated mainly for treatment of anxiety disorders (especially Panic Disorder). Panic attacks symptoms may include trembling, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, chest pain (or chest tightness), sweating, nausea, dizziness (or slight vertigo), light-headedness, hyperventilation, paresthesias (tingling sensations), and sensations of choking, smothering and dreamlike and disconnected sensations.

Anti-anxiety meds are benzodiazepines which can cause psychological and/or physical dependence. They are not for long-term treatment. It is important for you to have a close follow-up with your doctor.

It could be a panic attack, you may have eaten too much or maybe even a little bloated.
To be safe call the pharmacist and check to see if the meds might be causing it. Be sure to mention ant other meds you may be taking even herbal vitamins or tylenol.
Most importantly try to relax :)

Call the pharmacist who filled the prescription and ask if that's one of the side effects. If not, you can either give the meds a few days or go to another doctor for a second opinion.

Get tested for asthma. Sounds like an asthma attack to me. I have had asthma since 5 years of age and thats exactly how it feels. If you have anxiety you may also be having panic attacks but its most likely asthma.
