Should the US be spending so much money on all the toys we are using in the middle east like ships, tanks, jets and all the other fancy and high quality weapons and such while the Iriqis and Insurgents are only using AK-47s and RPGs. I really dont think we need to throw everything we have at them, its not like we are fighting Germany or China. But then again these guys are running out there with bombs strapped to their chests thinking they will recieve something nice for killing an innocent.

It's a guerilla war and nobody wins one of those. It's not a formal war anymore, you don't know who is the enemy or not. The whole thing is a waste of money. We need to either get out or nuke the place.

My thoughts:

1) Make fewer enemies -- this starts with adopting a statesmanlike approach, listening to the opinions of those we disagree with, and then acting not just according to our personal conscience but in accordance with the will of the people.
2) Fight the same war the bad guys are fighting. They are blowing up themselves for some reason. Is it just because they hate America? OK, I hate broccoli, but I'm not about to strap 20 lbs of C-4 on my back and let it off on a farm somewhere. In short, what are we doing in ANY war that we would gladly die for? If so, YES we should be throwing everything at them.

But I don't think we care that much, so we try to fight it from a distance, a little bit at a time, with expensive toys, for reasons that squirt out of our hands like wet soap. We have to rethink something there. I'm not saying get out... just rethink why we are there and what are we REALLY trying to do? P.S. I swear that right after Clinton left, Bush said (in reference to Kosovo) that he didn't want to fight wars of "nation building". What's the real reason, and if we don't have one, then... well, get out.

I think we KNOW why we are in Afghanistan -- to get back at the guys who blew up the WTC. I believe most of America thinks we are in Iraq for some other reason that doesn't strike fear or anger in the hearts of the average citizen.

Of course I could be wrong. Just my observations.

I wish I had an answer.

Ok, America has proven "Shock and Awe." That was early in the engagement---the proving ground for GPS systems.
Now, as a nation we must learn new methods of engagement based on conditions and etc.
We are perfecting Urban Combat skills--many of the tactics learned in Iraq today will be used here in America. Mark my words--the Jihadist movement is say 10 percent of Muslims.
That equals roughly 100-200 million people. We need to check everything in the inventory and start a dramatic national effort to " REARM" the likes at which the world has never seen.
Hey, they believe that-one martyr, one bomb is the ultimate weapon.

Yes. We are fighting an idealogy not a country. These madmen want to kill everyone who doesnt believe in their ways.
If these cowards would just come on out and fight like men, this thing would be over quickly.
If you dont want another 9/11 we must through everything at them.
