Just like you can't prove there is no Santa Claus.

Well, to be technically correct, a negative can proven, as long as there is a positive that can be proven. There was a recent question that made this point, though the asker didn't realize it. Which in turn, backfired on the asker.

I was born in 1975. I can prove I came into existance that year. There are records, witnesses, etc. Therefore, I can prove that in 1974, I did not exist.

Therefore, if you have a provable positive, you can use that positive to prove a negative.

What asker's of the proverbial "Prove god doesn't exist" question do not realize is that the lack of evidence to something's existance is the proof of its non-existance.

But, I doubt they will agree with that either. So, I just tend to ignore the questions.

Daisy's answer proves my point, though I don't think she intended to.

Concerning her point on pregnancy. You can prove a woman's pregnancy by the presence of certain hormoces in her body. Therefore, the lack of these hormones in her body will prove she is not pregnant.

The rest of her list fall under the same logic as the above. They all contain provable positives, therefore there are provable negatives.

Nice try though. And, thank you for helping prove my point.

i wish that final internet site's proprietor have been given permission to apply the video and track. whether a damaging must be shown, so what? If somebody does not have faith in GOD, it fairly is their "selection". GOD exists as we do. we ought to not come into existence on our own, nor ought to we create our souls or bodies or lives.

What is a negative? Perhaps a negative can be proven or perhaps it can't. Logic. One of my favorites. Which is it? God must exist because there is no proof that He does not exist or God does not exist because there is no proof the He does exist?

Doctors prove negatives all the time -

They can prove a woman isn't pregnant
They can prove you don't have diabetes
They can prove you don't have strep throat
DNA tests can prove a man isn't the father

Just some examples.

But 2 negatives make a positive....so your 8 negatives should make 4 positives.

I've learned that the necessary number of times to explain this is always at least once more than the number of times you've already explained it.

Trying to introduce believers to logic is like trying to kill the last ant invading your house.
