Well, first off. You saying "really intoxicated" indicates you are about 18 years old or less. Somewhere around there. The advice I can offer you, is not set the goal of getting "really intoxicated". If it happens so be it, but don't make the point of a night that. Besides, the guys that got "really intoxicated" all the time end up working the late shift at Denny's. As for a recommendation for new liquor.
Scotch - Glenlivvet etc. (Spelling may be off, I don't have a bottle)
Whiskey - Evan Williams Vintage
Vodka - Polar Ice (Reasonably cheap)
Petrone - Best tequilla I've had.

I like to drink dry martinis (AKA Vodka on the rocks), i'm not a vermueth fan so I just pour three-five shots over a ton of ice and drop a few olives in (sometimes splash some of the olive juice in cuz I like it dirty as well) It'l be strong at first but as the ice melts and you get drunk it'l go down like water. Add ice and vodka as needed...
PS. Keep the Vodka in the freezer. I find Svedka to be the best bargain, i think its just as good as Absolute and its about 1/2 to 2/3 of the price.
I've got a few other drinks that get you drunk but this is by far my favorite b/c it is simple to make and I've gotten to enjoy the taste of vodka.
(could mix the vodka with OJ, Red Bull, Some Gatorades, cranberry juice, etc. - In these mixers even Gordons will work but you'l be messing up the taste)

if we knew what you were switching it up from that might help :) (like from vodka or beer? or wine? hah)
I'm going to assume you want a sipping drink instead of shooting since you can shoot almost anything and not worry about how it 'tastes'.
You can try scotch (if you have the mouth for it). Neat (straight) or on the rocks or with soda (soda water like club soda). the little bit of water that melts into the scotch will make it sweeter (or at least that's what I claim!) If you have the funds drop some on a 12 yo macallan. it's a great scotch for the price. don't waste money on blue label.
If scotch is too harsh try straight vodka on the rocks. if it tastes too much like rubbing alcohol try gin and tonics. if you don't like the lime taste try bourbon and coke (like maker's mark and coke) or rum and coke (capn't morgan). these last options usually go well with people since there's coke in it. heh

I don't have a favorite liquor, but my favorite mixed drink is an Alabama Slammer and a couple will get you smashed.
You need:
-2 parts Southern Comfort
-1 part Amaretto
-1 part Sloe Gin
-As much orange juice as you deem necessary (you can also do lemon, or cranberry if desperate)
It's strong, dark in color and tastes so good that you can drink 'em like shots.

I'd suggest Knob Creek Bourbon. It is from Jim Beam but it is part of their small batch bourbons so it is more expensive but has a higher alcohol content. Bottom line it tastes great and you can really feel it after a couple of drinks ....I use diet Cola but it is good enough to drink straight..

Original "Long Island Iced Tea" is always a good way to get *ucked up. Then there's "Rum and coke', or "Tanquraey and grapefruit juice." Then There's "Tequila Sunrise" that's always a winner.

I'm a fan of Jagermeister.
The taste in my opinion isn't too bad, it's like licorice.
And after the first few shots, you can't taste, anyhow.
=)

What are you used to drinking?
I'm a fan of Jager and Jameson. Not at the same time though as that would be really bad.
