One 30 days late mark is not the end of the world. Time will take care of that.

In your case, there are two big factors to improving your credit:

1. Pay at least the minimums on everything on time! This is the single biggest factor in your credit score. The one black mark will grow less important with age.

2. You want to keep your credit balance less than 30% of your total credit limits on your cards. The less debt you actually have, the better.

Keep paying things on time and paying down debt, and you'll soon have a good score.

As for the one black mark, you can always call that credit card company and ask them to remove it since you've been paying well since then. They probably won't, but it's worth a shot. Otherwise it stays since it's a legitimate item.

I'm not sure what you mean by "rereport"..... Each company should update the bureaus once monthly with the information.

Get your balanced under 30% and keep them under that market permanently. Keep the same credit cards open long term.

An installment account will help as well-- the bureaus like to see a balance of credit card and loan accounts.

You seem to be doing everything right. One way you can get the 30-day late remark off your report is to make the request to your credit card company.

If that doesn't work, there are companies who can have negative remarks removed from your credit report . (BEWARE!! There are a LOT of companies who specialize in ripping people off while saying that they'll improve your credit score!)

There is a law firm in Utah who can help you (http://www.lexingtonlaw.com/credit-repair/index.php?tid=50.0.60001&roiid=150093&cid=314998&c=1&oid=1&scid=0) for a fee, of course. They are reputable. There's another company in LA, but they are WAY expensive.

In addition, get "Kill Off Your Debt--and LIVE!" (www.GoldenRocFinancial.com or Amazon.com) for more things you can do. Great book!

keep your accounts in good standing, pay your bills and after three months your credit score should improve. Don't apply for more credit as it can hurt your credit score.
