you need to get a lic. through your state. its really easy i have one you just have to make sure your house is up to their standards and then go to orientation, first aid / cpr is current, and then each year you have to have so much training. that way you can also get kids who have help from the state for payments. i'm not sure if you just want to be like a babysitter if you need that but i know here i couldn't put anything in the newspaper unless i had a lic. number.

first you need to get your qualifications to become a qualified childcare provider. But you dont need a certificate if you only want to become an assistant. I have my level 3 diploma in childcare and it took me 2 years to get. Its worth getting because i can now work at any daycare and with any age range.
