For a girl, obviously.
Yes, Esther is a very old name. But it is the name of my favorite Bible character- she gave her life for her people- It is a name that speaks of beauty, honor, and courage.

i guess ignorance is bliss.

some of the answers are not based on fact. Janelle, jennell or what ever way you spell it is a FRENCH name and a take off of the name John. Jennita to me sounds Hispanic and beautiful. Personally I'd go for Janelle 'cause that's my name and I'm the only black person I've come across with that name if that's your issue.

shame on the other answerers, it's a name why bring race into it?

As for the name Esther, if the name has meaning for you go with it. my babies middle name will be Claire which some think is out dated too. i think it's nice to hear some of the mature sounding names again. my older boys have the middle names Theodore and Maurice. to be fair i gave them two middle names so they have options but that's just me.

Okay, seriously, I think of black female prostitutes. Like, the crack wh*res. Sorry, I am not racist or anything like that. I love everybody and I have done some pretty bad things myself so I'm not trying to judge.... just saying my opinion like you asked. And Esther for a middle name... an old white grandma who screams at everyone. Please don't get mad at me!!! Just giving my opinion.

jennita is nicer, but i reckon like jenita, it looks prettier. jennell reminds me of the bogan chick on neighbours haha sorry... the meaning of ester is really nice but does sound like a bit of a grandma name, try babynames.com and you can look by definition there if you want that definition!
