I know its better for her because it will almost eliminate her chance of getting cancer and infections in her uterus, and unwanted pregnancies..etc.but I am so scared of her not waking up or something going wrong! Its all I can think of! She is going April 2nd. Why am I so worried. Yes I have asked before but how safe is it really??? Gosh, I love this pup, she is brillant, and loving and so playful and she listens so well and well..she is my good buddy...and yup, I am asking again...

Thanks Alli..She did have blood work, all was good except slight elevation in Urea..she had fasted but her meal before that was chicken! Vet said could make Urea a little high cause of protein. My vet has done this for 30 years. Still worried, lol

I work at a vet clinic, and yes, you are correct that there are risks involved with anesthesia. But in a young healthy dog the risk is much less. Anesthesia complications are rare, and I have had all of my pets spayed or neutered, and have not had a problem. And the risk of anesthesia complications is MUCH less than the risks of her getting mammary cancer, uterine cancer, or a pyometra (an infection in her uterus), which are all very dangerous, and could be deadly. To lower the risk of anesthesia I would recommend taking her to a very good veterinary clinic. I used to work at a vet clinic that required blood work before anesthesia, and IV fluids. This kind of care will cost more, but it is worth it if you are so worried. And this vet clinic also did the procedure in the morning, and called the owner right when the animal woke up, so you didn't have to worry all day how your pup is doing. Talk to your veterinarian, tell them your concerns, and ask them what else they can do to ensure that your pup will be safe. Good Luck, and Spaying her is very good idea to ensure long term health, and that no more unwanted puppies are born.

If your puppy is young, good health then there shouldn't be any problems. I have gotten my male kitty neutered and he was fine...He's actually be under the knife 3 times since his neutering...Cause he get's reocurance of crystals in his bladder.

He's going to be 8 yrs old this May...so he's getting old.
If you do have any concerns just talk to your vet i am sure they will be more than willing to answer all your concers/questions.

you have nothing to worry about. the place you are going to has done this procedure so many times. i was worried to when i took my dog to get him fixed a long time ago. back then we took him to the local shelter to do it. i was afraid since my friend's cat caught something from there. but after he came home, he slept all night and the next night he was back to his normal self.

your puppy will be fine. jst make sure you are there when she goes in and ready to recieve her when she is ready to go home.

don't u worry!
it's ABSOLUTELY SAFE.
almost all female dogs get it!
we didn't worry when our dog was going to get neutered.
it's not like they're putting her to sleep...she will wake up, nothing will go wrong. the doctors have done it dozens of times before so they know what they're doing!

They do it to puppies as young as 6 weeks (after they're weaned) and it's perfectly safe.
