My bestfriend thinks that i am replacing her with my boyfriend. my boyfriend and i have gotten a little closer and she thinks that mean i am going to drop her off the face of the earth. she is my best friend, why would i do that to her? and everytime i tell her, im not going to replace her she finds something that i have done or havent done to nit-pick at with me. like today i was hugging my b/f and i didnt say bye to her until i was done hugging him. she said i didnt say bye at all! I dont kno what to do. i think she is over reacting a little. how can i prove that she will always be my best friend, but my boyfriend is my boyfriend. i love her like a sister, but she doesnt understand sometimes. what should i do? and am i really replacing her??

whoa whoa careful with this one.
"the best friend" gets SUPER super awkward when they are left their dangling and being a stupid thirdwheel *****.

but also, if you pay more attention to her, ur bf will totally get frustrated.

So sure, hugs are okay, but not like long swaying hugs that take FOREVER or do not passionately kiss in front of her PLEASE!

when hes not there, do not talk about him constantly, it bugs the crap out of people!
when you are with her, do not talk to him on the phone!
set aside girl time asap..and be extra friendly with her during these times. She feels that she should be the only one THAT close to you, and along comes this guy who you can actually "love" not just sisterly type..Now she feels as if there is no need for her and that she is just the other wheel and that she is going to be boyfriendless and lonely.
Nitpicking is her way of saying i feel lonely and you are making it worse. She wants to put you down from your euphoria so that she will not feel his way.
The after ward 'bye' even if u couldnt help it, offended her becuase it felt like she was second best and bEst friends HATE that. its as if you are rubbing your bf in her face (NOT THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO OR ARE< BUT THAT IS HOW SHE FEELS)

so make sure to se the line between BF and that extra F. When hanging out, bring some other people along too that she can get to know or even date. But not in a way where it like you are setting her up.

mmk, good luck, and she will get over it

she is jelous. you are spending time and are involved with someone besides her.
don't worry about it. she may be upset but when she gets a boyfriend she will do the same exact thing then that you are doing now.
