Dandruff is caused by build up or by dry skin. If rubbing it really hard isn't working you may have a dry skin problem. You could try the head & shoulders dry scalp dandruff shampoo. If a couple of weeks of that don't work then try the regular head & shoulders shampoo. If you are still having problems consult your doctor. They have special shampoos made for all sorts of allergic conditions, eczemas etc. They may have a better time diagnosing what the cause is and how to treat it.
Some of the sulphur shampoos are good too if you have an infection in your scalp.

A few remedies that you can try at home are:
- Apply coconut oil on your scalp and leave it for an hour. After an hour, apply lemon juice and massage your scalp. Leave it on for another hour, and then shampoo your hair with a mild shampoo. This will leave your hair shiny and without any dandruff flakes.
- Take an egg, beat it and apply on the scalp and leave it for an hour. Shampoo your hair and you will find that the dandruff has disappeared.
- If you have mild dandruff, applying coconut oil daily for a few days, will rid you of the condition.
- Wash you hair with beer. The alcohol in the beer is known to clear the dandruff on your scalp.
- You can also try massaging your scalp with vinegar (if you can stand the smell) and then wash it with a mild shampoo.

Don't shampoo too often - it dries out your hair and scalp skin (the latter is the source of the dandruff). Use Head & Shoulders Shampoo, every other or even every third day. don't rub the skin so hard. See if your pharmacy/drugstore has a moisturizer that could be used on your head (I'm serious!).

There is a hair product out there that Is expensive, but it works. I had a similar problem (not dandruff but some sort of scalp condition) and I used it once for about 2 weeks and it got rid of it instantly. It's called Nizerol.

Dandruff is only a dry scalp, so that you ought to up your consumption of Omega three oils to moisturise the dermis (reward in Fish, Olive Oil and Flax Seed - you'll be able to get dietary supplements if you do not desire to devour any of those!). My hairdresser gave me a satisfactory tip - get a *little* frame (or olive) oil, aspect your hair and run it alongside your parting. It will maintain the dermis moisturised and must give up the situation (best use somewhat tho, you do not desire to be washing oil from your hair eternally!).

The best shampoo is T-Gel by Neutrogena. Get the extra- strenght one, use three times a week and you will see results in about 2 weeks. It really works, I had the same problem. Once the dandruff is gone use it once a week as preventive care.
Hope it helps and good luck!!!
