When she is upset, I will hold her and try to comfort her, but then the next day or so she says that holding her is not being supportive when she cries. I do not know what else to do. She can't explain what she means, except that I am not supportive. At this point, I don't even know what supportive means anymore.

She has been very upset lately because her dog is very sick. I too am very upset as I love that dog very much, he is such a good boy. So when she goes to bed in tears and I hold her, I really honestly don't know what else to do. I have been spending extra time with the dog giving him lots of love, I have been trying to comfort her, but she keeps telling me that I am not being supportive. This is why I need help, because she simply can't tell me what she means by being supportive, except that I am not it.

Everyone is different. Some ppl need 2 b held, whereas others just want 2 b left alone, and some ppl want u 2 get back at the person who made them cry, or give them advice on how 2 fix the situation. U need 2 talk 2 ur gurl about it and make sure ur clear. Try giving her suggestions on what 2 do when she's crying over something, and let her talk it out. Let her kno that u feel her pain and u really care. It's really sweet that ur so supportive of her. Let her kno how u feel, and keep being a great bf.
Good Luck!!!

you know how real estate folks talk about the three L's? Location, location, location? Women have three L's as well. And you guessed it, they're all the same word. Listen, listen, listen.
Putting your arm around her works - but, it needs to be more than that. really try to understand the deeper root of what's going on. ask her why she feels the way she does.
and don't use other overtones...they'll see right through that. you're not looking to get something out of it from her, except to really hear what she has to say.

well babe why does she cry in the first place? if u love her u dont stay idle about her issues wtvr they may be. u can cry too u know! what would u like her to do if u did? think about it, u said she cries, meaning she does it often i am assuming, so fix the problem with her and when she does cry again be genuine. dont just hug her like a robot. if shes asking u to do something differetn listen to her, i mean its not like shes asking u to jump off a bridge. i hear u and it seems like u r anice guy but its never one persons fault only, if ur a couple then communicate together. only way. best wishes,
