It's usually a lack of Calcium, does she have white spots on the nail too, this usually indicate Calcium deficiency. Drink more milk.

Some just do. It's not always a calcium problem. Get her to re-assess her priorities in life if that's what it takes to drive her mad.

does it happen when they have contact with water, mine do too, the colour comes back after they have dried though
