I just figured out I'm allergic to something and when I started coughing and having difficulty breathing and noticing a few hives, I immediately took 25mg of benedryl(about 10minutes ago)... Is there anything else I should/can do? Take another 25mg of benedryl? I've known that I'm allergic to shellfish for years, but never had a reaction like this before.

I would take another one just to be on the safe side.. but if you start to have more trouble breathing and more hives.. I would go to the emergency room just to play it safe. Good Luck :)

I hope that if this progressed you went to the ER. You can always take Benadryl. You should also ask your doctor for a prescription for an Epi-Pen if this tends to be airway related. If you are ever having an allergic reaction, though, go right away to the ER as you never know how far the reaction will progress.
