I am sending out my wedding save-the-date magnets soon. The magnets have only our first names; most invitees know about us, but there are some who may need to be 'reminded' of who we are: ie, our parents' friends or long-lost friends whom we haven't kept in touch with for awhile. Is there a cute/proper way to let them know about us/who we are? For example, write a short note in there saying, "Hi, it's me, Jane Doe. I'm getting married!"

Your return address will probably include your last name, and that should clue them in to who you are. However, you can always include a short, handwritten note that references your relationship to them, such as "My mom Cindy says hello" or "I know it's been forever since we've seen each other".

You can put a note in or we actually are going to put the maganets on postcards (so if fits better in the envelope) and on there we are putting more information, Such as our full names location, etc. I liked this idea also because if you are good with a computer, they are really easy and cheap to make with out lookine cheasy or cheap!

Hope that helps

This reminds me of the wedding shower my future sister-in-law threw for me... she made name tags for everyone.. not a bad idea since not everyone knew each other, however I didn't wear mine... I figured if the guests didn't know or couldn't remember who the bride was they shouldn't be there!

Same thing goes for you... if you don't think they'll know who you are, why bother having them 'save the date'? It obviously won't break your heart if they can't attend the wedding :)

Why...are you inviting people who you know may not remember you? I remember in college, I invited EVERYONE to my graduation, but that was only for more presents at the time. I'm not married, but I can't see the reason for inviting (and paying for) people who may not remember who the heck I am unless it's to make sure my entire registry is bought.

Congratulations, though!
