For a quick fix when you're starting to get worked up about something and need to calm down...
1. Inhale
2. Smile
3. Exhale
(4. Repeat--I don't think I need to include this, but just in case... yeah.)
Works every time, in my experience. Good luck! ^_^

Try to think of what you enjoy when you veg out. Do you normally veg out (relax). Is it when you are listening to music, watching a comedy? surfing the net?

Distracting yourself from whatever is stressing you at the time is the best solution. I find the things mentioned above the best things for my stress.

Although I love to read, it is not the best thing for me to do when I am stressed, as I cannot concentrate on what I am reading. I need to interact somehow... typing, laughing, singing... With a book, it is too quiet.

Try thinking of what you enjoy and try to make it interactive to make your mind think of things other than anxiety.

If you have a bath, fill it up with nice warm water put a couple of lit candles in the room, switch the main light off and jump in (take clothes off first). It works like magic.
