ok so i went to take this stupid drivers test today, and i missed the question on what your supposed to do when you speed up. I read the little booklet thing like 5 times, and no where in that book does it say. My options that actually made sense were put both hands on the wheel OR look further into the distance on the road.

what would the correct answer be

they told me to read this certain page in the book to get the answer, BUT ITS NOT THERE. can anyone help me

Erm...change into a higher gear? It's a silly question to put into a test, I wouldn't have known what to say if they'd asked me that question for my test!

I believe that the correct answer is to also increase your following distance from the vehicle in front of you. Looking further ahead does make sense as you need to anticipate any hazards that may arise while travelling at a higher rate of speed. Using both hands while a good idea and a great way to be a safer driver and have more control of your vehicle is NOT the correct answer in this particular case. Hope this helps and try re-reading that page again... DMV tests are typically VERY straight forward, but are worded to not make ANY sense.

Look further down the road. You sould already have both hands on the wheel.

it is important that you look a little further down the road because it is going to take you longer to stop now that you are going faster.

I'm a trucker, give me room to stop!
