Girls, do you prefer it when a guy small-talks with you all evening, and then politely asks for your phone number, or is the direct approach better eg "hey you are gorgeous - you are coming home with me tonight!". Personally, I prefer the direct approach - you get an instant response - whereas with the friendly chat approach you can spend all evening with one girl and then find out she's not interested. However you definitely lose a lot of girls with direct approach due to the shock value.

I think it also depends on the guy.
Work with what you have got. If you are a confidant extravert sure go for the direct approach. You should be able to take the couple of rejections just on pure shock. I also think this works well for the pretty boys. Damn you pretty boys.
But if you are quiet, don't go for the direct approach. Women will see through if that is not you. I am one of these guys. Talk, make them laugh, but all the time be droping hints. And read these hints. If you are trying to hook up numbers or a root, not all girls are going to be into it.
So make sure you read the hints guys. If a chick is not interested, she is not interested. There is not much you can do to change that. Move on.

If you want the fast approach then you will get the fast answer.We woman usually like to be chatted up for a while so we can sus you guys out a little,and the more time you spend getting to know us the more we are going to appreciate you for not just wanting the quick answer,so that you can move on to number 2 just because you have to pick someone up before you go home.

Nothing beats a guy who would stimulat my brain with a good conversation first. A shallow self centered guy would really turn me off, looks and brain do matter to me. If you can't pull out a simple conversation with a girl with confidence and sense then I don't think you are worth going back to my apartment. A drink is ok, but giving the direct approach is just lame and disrecpectfull for me.

I think that direct approach disgusts me. If you use that direct approach on a girl, be very sure you will get an STD by the next morning:) It all depends on what type of girl you are looking for? Are you looking for sex- use the direct approach. If you are looking for someone to get to know and actually want to care about someone- get to know her.

Depends what kind of person you are.. some greasy guy came up to me and asked me 'who lies more.. boys or girls..?' and I gave him and answer and he said, 'well my friends over there say boys lie more but me, I'm different, I can never lie.. and you are absolutely beautiful' I was on the floor laughing so hard! It was so funny, I just said 'OKAAAY' and slid away. But another gorgeous boy chatted me up with a line and you could tell it was jokily and it wasn't his style and I thought it was great. I don't like the slow approach sometimes cause I always end up feeling like something has to happen and I get all guilty. Also, I hate guys who expect something from a girl as if it's the girls duty to be attracted to them.. get over yourselves boys like that!

Depends really on the place, the mood and the girl. We are all different, if you are saying that directly to a conservative girl, you might get a different outcome than an outgoing gal. For me I prefer subtle flirtations than direct approach. If I hear someone saying that to me, I will think you as a w****r.

I am not a girl, but had to thrown down. I think you will agree, that Like attracts like. If you are Outgoing and direct, wouldn't you scar off the timid, quite types, while doing well with aggressive, "Maneatters" who were not scared or intimidated by your stance?. No? Seems you may want to be more selective of your targeting. If you have your wants and needs CLEARLY separated, you target the girl type you NEED. If that need is the quite, gentle type, then you would alter you advance to suit the target type.

why don't you find a happy medium, talk to her for a little while small talk then ask for her number, that way you wont turn her off with the direct approach (so she Will actually feel like you wanna chat to her not just shag her) but if shes not interested you haven't wasted the whole night chatting with her.

It really all depends on the animal magnetism that's either there or not! I like the direct approach more so than dilly-dallying around it, too. Same for women. You can spend the whole night talking to a man who never follows through or is too vague for you to know if he wants to see again or just jump your bones. Hey.
