According to the Gospels, Jesus' birth, life, death, and resurrection fulfilled many prophecies found in the Hebrew Bible.
His death on a cross is understood as the redemptive sacrifice: the source of humanity's salvation and the atonement for sin, which had entered human history through the sin of Adam. For Christians, atonement for original sin (and actual sin) requires the redemption of Jesus Christ's death and resurrection.
In other words, he saved us from sins that kept us from God and gave us the redemption needed for the forgiveness of those sins, for humanity's salvation.

Our sin.
Fellowship was lost due to sin. The sin issue could not be dealt with by good works, traditions, or rituals. The wages of sin is death. A loophole was created by God that a substitute death could be used, hence the Levitical system of sacrifice, a picture of what was to come. God came down in the form of man, to live, and die in our place to re-establish our lost fellowship. This event tore the veil in the Temple to announce that the wall of separation between man and God was over. All we need do is come to Christ for the cleansing of sins and obtain the once-lost fellowship.

hell and sin.
Salvation is only found in Jesus Christ- because we all fall short of God's glory and we have all sinned against Him (Romans 3:23) and the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) this is the "second death" which is hell. "But God demonstrated His own love towards us in that while we were sinners, Christ died for us" Romans 5:8 --He died and rose again, defeating death, so we who believe would be saved from hell and sin--be washed clean and forgiven, and we receive His kingdom which is heaven. How awesome is that!
He saves us from hell because we were all destined to go there, for sin separates us from God---and we were all under His wrath, but those who are saved, born again through Jesus Christ are now redeemed through the blood of Christ, justified and sanctified. (See Romans 10:9 and 10:10)
There is nothing more important than your eternal salvation in Jesus Christ. For he saves us from hell, and gives us eternal life through Him, and He didnt even have to! But out of His own grace, He does! (Ephesians 2:8) To believers: Romans 5:9
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!

The wages of sin is death. Jesus saves us from our sins. Though our body dies, our spirit is born of God (eternal life within). And we work out our salvation to the saving of our soul. So, works of our soul rooted in faith (trust & obey) hope & love... are everlasting rewards.
Also, we are saved from the wrath of God. We are part of the 1st Resurrection. We are saved from the threat of the Lake of Fire/ the 2nd death, of those at the next Resurrection after the 1000 yr Reign of Christ.

Jesus (pbuh), Came not to save us from anything but to lead us to God almighty..,only god can save man from anything...God even saved jesus (pbuh) from being crucified by raising him up to heaven with him where he currently is untill he returns. I know people will want you to believe jusus died on some cross, but god made it so that another person would take his place upon it who he made to look like jusus(pbuh) Do you trully believe god would make a man give his life up for all of mankind??? That is not fair nor would it make since that I can sin as much as possible but because he did a good thing its ok as long as I believe he did it so I can get away with sining. Jesus(pbuh) was a great man and one of our most revered prophets born of a virgin and preformed miracles from birth, healed the sick and spoke with the inspired word of god himself, but he was neither god nor gods son..If ever he saved any man he saved lazarus from death once, saved the sick from their desiases, and saved those around him from being in spiritual darkness...

Jesus saved us from sin. That means we can go to heaven ! If he hadn't died on the cross we would all go well down . And we all want to go up , at least i hope so. As long as you ask for forgivness for your sins and follow the ten commandments you most definently will go to heaven were your life wil be perfect for all eternity when you die.
