I started talking to him this week and i really like him. I am very interested but my ex doesnt want me talking to his brother. we've been broken up for about 7 months so he has no reason to be mad at me. he is very respectful and i think we might be on to something. my friends tell me that its wrong but i dont think so.

If you're looking for a fling go out with your ex boyfriends brother. If you want a relationship where a man respects and honors you for your integrity and values, then don't go out with your exboyfriend's brother. You will become a sex toy and not taken seriously. A man won't tell you because he's not going to turn away the attention. It's his ego that thrives when he can get his brother's girl. Once he's had you then he won't trust you. You can't blame him. The way you begin a relationship establishes the foundation of it. What's next - are you gonna date his dad, uncle, or his cousin? Are you gonna let them pass you around the family. That's not to say these kind of relationships can't work - but the odds are that it won't. Don't waste your time. There are a billions of men in this world and you are choosing your ex's brother. C'mon now! You might want to consider counseling - it's sounds like you are suffering from low self esteem. Give yourself time - you will meet someone that's not attached to your ex. Have some self respect - he's much too close for comfort.

I was in a situation like that years ago. I don't think it's so wrong. I ended up having a better time with my ex's brother, which was then my new boyfriend. If you have no problem with it, just do it. Who cares what other people think. Look at it this way.. You're just looking for "the one". And "the one" might just be your ex's brother. You'll never know until you try.

No, it's not wrong, and if your ex, you, and the new guy are all mature adults who are mutually respective, then it might work out.

However: that said, I wouldn't say it's a good idea. If your relationship works out with this new guy but your ex is not able to cope with it, you are setting yourself up for a *lifetime* of angst and uncomfortable family gatherings. And you'll also have to wonder about the motivation behind the brother's pursuit of you... is he into you because you're just that awesome or are you just an expression of some brotherly competitiveness?

I'd say give it a miss.

It really depends on the individuals involved. If your ex is already against it, it would be a constant strain on any relationship you would like to have with his brother! Also you have to be really sure your not just interested in his brother to get close to your Ex or to try and make him feel jealous! Good Luck!

Don't do it, It happened to me 7yrs ago. and literally, i swear i hope i can turn back time. I hope i didn't date his brother, because i look like a b**tch and you know what, after being with his brother for couple of months i realize how much i love my ex, and for that i am so shy to his family, cousins, friends and siblings. It seems that i don't have dignity to myself, another thing is people thinks that the brother's used me. In a way that my ex is done with me so he passed me to his brother. Don't do that mistake, but hey my ex still love me and he don't care what people say. He took me back. Now i'm happily married with 2 kids, but i hope i didn't do that mistake. So sweetheart dont do it.

I think it is pretty messed up personally. It has happened to me with this girl I was seeing for 2 years. And I really feel betrayed by my brother. Sure I am not happy with her either but we don't even talk any more so I wasn't too shocked she went for him. But for my brother to do something like that tore me apart. I really look up to my brother and for him to be that disrespectful really messed with my head. So I personally think its not a good idea if for nothing else then just out of respect for his relationship with his brother.

I personally think it depends on a couple things. Firstly, the circumstances of your breakup. If the brother cheated or just got tired of you or something like that, then I would just ignore how he felt about the situation and go ahead and date his brother. It would be totally different if he was really into you and you hurt him by letting him go and then went and dated his brother.

My older brother had a girl friend like that.

Her and I got along fine (as friends) while they dated.

They broke up and several months later I got home from work and she was half snoozing on my bed in my room.

She called me over and pulled me into her arms while kissing me.

I told her to get the F*** out and leave me alone.

as long as you are both happy that should be all that matters. But do you think yoour ex would have a bad reaction to you all dating? if you think he may destroy what you and his brother have... i dont think it is worth it. But if its sruley what makes you happy then i wish you the best of luck!! follow your heart... its the best way to go:)
