I think it would look beautiful. Also let me just say, who cares about the season. What is there no brown in summer? I'm using brown in my summer wedding only I am using brown and a bright green (apple green) with ivory accents and sparse splashes of red (our favors are going to be chocolate covered strawberries)

do what you want and who cares about the season. There is no contract you have to sign that says you can only use certain colors at certain times. I would go wtih a lighter purple though to make it stand out, think light colored lilacs. If you go with two dark colors it will look sad instead of elegant.

I think that would be very pretty. I would reverse it though and use mostly lighter tones of purple with a few dark tones for the flowers. That way it will be a nice contrast against the espresso dresses. Sounds nice!

Beautiful color for the dresses, purple flowers sound nice but I would think some light blue flowers or some pale yellow would be better for a summer wedding and be a nice contrast to make the color of the dresses stand out.
Just go with whatever color that makes you happy on your special day.
Congratulations and Best Wishes to You and Your Fiance'.

It sounds pretty but may not go with the season. I recommend pink because it really compliments brown. Honestly though, if it is purple and brown you have your heart set on, do it. I would pick a summery flower though, Liliacs would be beautiful, not sure if they hold up well or will be available at a reasonable price considering they are a spring flower . Good Luck!!!

I love the idea of dk brown with purple but I think its not entire appropriate for a Summer wedding....I would consider that color combo more of a Fall wedding or at least Sepember when it is still kinda Summery out but edging toward Fall.
Congrats!

I think you'd have to have a few brighter purple flowers in the mix to keep it from looking too drab with the dresses. If it's a really dark brown dress with either a sheen or a hint of metallic to it, it might not be too bad.

Maybe something like these:

Some red might liven it up as well

Have you considered using pink flowers?

Sounds lovely.
Might I suggest some red, orange, pink, or yellow flowers or ribbon in the bouquet to add a summery touch?

Too dark. Accentuate the bouquet with some contrasting yellow or light colored flowers to make it more vivid and interesting.

Good luck

I don't know... it sounds much too dark. Lighter colors are often more popular during summer weddings anyways...
