Halal meat is meat that comes from animals slaughtered in accordance with the Islamic religious laws whereby the animal is blessed and then has its throat cut and is then left to die from loss of blood, while not having been stunned in the first place. This can take several minutes and in my view is a particularly gory and inhumane way of killing an animal. Imagine the fear that that animal goes through smelling its own blood pooling around its feet.

I am not a vegetarian, but I would not eat halal meat!

I think the word you are looking for is Halal. This is meat that has been killed and prepared according to Muslim religious regulations. Most Muslim's will only eat Halal meat. If it were Jewish it would be called Kosher and they use a similar system for the killing and preparation of meat, which excludes pork or pork products. I only know this because I have Muslim friends.

Halal meat is from animals slaughtered according to Islamic belief. I think the method is the same as Jewish tradition.

I believe you should substitute the word "Permissible " for the word HALLAL. Muslims use the word Hallal to say it is permissible under Islamic law. Personally I think it is a covert way of saying "Buy from us ,I am a follower of Islam "

It is the Islamic version of kosher and has something to do with how it is (or isn't) slaughtered.
