Anything you do for the purpose of pleasing God will be easy. It´s all in the intention.
(actually, I fast in Ramadan. Hope you don´t mind me answering. I find fasting a great practice and just wanted to encourage you. Good luck!)

God enacts famines. We fast so that we might feast in His Glory! In the time of famine rely on Him. I have no idea what world vision might be sponsering, a diet club maybe?

i in my view, see no correlation between you no longer eating and the starvation of somebody else. in any respect. possibly your mom would not the two. My chum did the 30 hour famine and while people found out what it became, they refused to furnish her money because of the fact they did no longer the two. yet once you prefer to do it, possibly you will get some gentle speaking person to conjure up a connection. possibly the guy who's best the gang or sponsoring the form?

While I believe the sponsors of this type of even mean no harm.
Fasting, no matter how long is supposed to be in combination with private prayer and time alone with God.
To attend this function is no harm, but not truely what God tells us to do when we fast.
We are to fast while we are in private communication with God. If we do this for 30 hours it should be in private, alone with God.
Biblical reference to go to. David fasted and prayed for three days before his son died. He then broke his fast and turned his attention to the living and stated that he would see his infant son again after he has also died.

I think calling 30 hours without food 'famine' is like calling a haircut 'decapitation'. That's two missed meals and a late dinner. I've gone 30 hours without eating by accident.

No such thing as a 30 hour famine. That's just missing a couple of meals.
Famine is long.... weeks at least.
I missed a few meals before. I've never been famished though.

IT IS SOOO COOL! I did it for a organization called International Justice Mission, and they save girls from brothels. They have found girls as young as five!!!!
But it was so cool, we are sooo privileged here to have food. We dont even really think about it....
