Stand before a mirror. Remove your pants. Turn around and bend down. Look behind you at your reflection in the mirror. You'll find that your ringa-ding-ding looks exactly like the end of a sausage too.

It has to be closed shut to avoid bacteria and foreign objects entering, but it needs to be able to expand to let faecal matter out. What you are observing is the excess skin that expands to allow the faeces to escape. When a cat needs to defecate, the pressure of the faeces against the muscle inside causes it to stretch and when the cat has relieved itself, it reverts to it's former state. It's just a coincidence that it looks like the end skin of a hotdog.

great question, that one really got me thinking, shame though, i dont have a cat anymore so i cant check, mabye lucky for the cat, dont listen to the others, there just annoyed cos there cats reported them to the rspca! HA.
seriously though its because our divine maker has a sense of humour. one final thought, have you considered sauce on your cats ahem.
