We are building a house and I will finally get my own room!!! I was just wondering if anyone had any good decoration tips. What are some fun different ways to paint a room besides sponging and featherdusting?

Paint your walls with a nice coat of pain in a color you like.

Let dry for 3-4 days (just to make sure)

Wall glaze in another color that will reflect the 1st wall color is to be painted over it in only one layer.

do a portion of the wall at a time because there is another step to this.

buy a wallpaper brush and from top to bottom with one even stroke brush the wall. You may brush the wall as many times as you wish to get your desired texture.

As long as the layer of the glaze is thin enough you can see the other color underneath.

You can also put the glaze half way down the wall to the baseboard and continue with the procedure, that look good as well.

ok well first you should look through a few decorating books or designe catalogs, i really like www.pbteen.com they have the best furniture and bedroom accessories, also www.peir1.com

then look into feng shui it doent need to be in an asian theme but the flow of your room will be peaceful and serine, and very organized and can bring good fortune,

and paint your wall a color that you know you will enjoy for a while and it will match with different furniture and things

also keep a plant in your room, i like small bamboo, but it will help with the flow and bring fresh oxygen and will look pretty

First thing to do is find the bedding that you like. Once you've got that picked out you can choose your paint color and other accessories. It's a heck of a lot easier to find a paint that matches a bedspread than the other way around.

you can go to lowe's.com & use their virtual painter. You can paint sample rooms hundreds of different colors til you find the one/s you like. Then print out or write down the colors you chose & go get it without worrying if it's going to look good. hgtv.com has great pics of decorated bedrooms also.

How about combing the paint with a wide tooth comb. You could combine several colors for a different effect. You could also make straight lines or swirls. Good Luck
