There are a lot of factors that go in to how much a "babysitter" should be paid. It depends upon if the child/children are potty trained, how long the baby sitter is there, if the babysitter is responsible for getting them up and dressed or bathed and put to bed......
it will also depend on the age of the babysitter and how frequent the babysitter is needed. If it's an ongoing situation, then you and the babysitter need to work out something that is comfortable for the both of you. If it's on an "as needed" basis, then again, sit down with the babysitter, go over the expected duties and go from there. I really don't think it matters where you live, it's what the job entails. I hope that helps! Good luck!

here in south texas in a small town the typical is a flat $25 for the first 4 hours then it is 3 dollars an hour . If the sitter is required to stay over night (9pm -9am) we pay her/him 75$ because they usually will feed the children breakfast (12 hours divides by 4 equals 3 and 3 times $25 equals $75) We also make sure there is plenty of snacks and such for our sitter. They are asked to clean up any messes they or the kids make while under their care. Most of the time my kids are in bed before I leave so it is more of a having someone in charge while they sleep in case something happens

Depending on what has to be done. If it is the middle of the day and my kids (two years and two months) are sleeping then not a whole lot maybe $20 if it is a while. But if it is at night I go as high as $60. That is if the sitter has to feed, and put to bed as well as entertain for a while. Luckily I have friends with kids and we just take turns sitting our kids and we don't have to pay.

When my children had a sitter I paid 8.00 per hour for two kids. If the sitter was good and my kids liked them I would pay more the next time because I certainly wanted her to come back when I called.

I live in Upstate NY (rural), I haven't paid for babysitting myself since I lived In NYC but my daughter baby sits. She charges a set fee, If the child is sleeping $10 and if the child is awake $20. I paid $5/hr for one child and $7/hr for 2 children.

w/ my daughter doing the babysitting, it would depend on the time of day, if she has to put the kids to bed, if she has to feed them, etc,
Of course the hourly rate drops once the kids are in bed...for your situation, she would charge $10 an hour (diapers) while the kids are up, probably $6 for while they are sleeping, unless the baby is prone to getting up every hour or so.

typically, when i get paid. the factors are: how long i babysat for, how many kids, and kids ages. mainly, though, its what you decide. when i babysit for 3 girls and one boy (ages 9,6,2, and 10 months) i get $5 an hour. when i babysit for two girls (ages 10 and 8) i also get $5. so it really depends on you.

you should search for babysitting online. There are tons of places that match you up with a sitter and vice versa, and you can see what other people in your area are paying/charging.
