No - quite the reverse. Whilst there may be an odd church with good membership, Christianity worldwide, including the Catholic church is suffering an ever increasing loss of membership.

Some people blame modern life and science. I believe the majority leaving the church are doing so because they are too ashamed to be associated with the born again, zealots and extremists that are subverting Christianity to their own egotistical ends.

Oh and by the way - a Christian theocracy is against the constitution or have you not read that far?

As an Atheist, I have to say I have no idea what the F you are on about, mate.

America is headed for a "christian theocracy?"

that is HILARIOUS! No way, no how. Nothing less than a civil war could ever make that happen.

those who believe that America is the least bit anti secular need to go to this link and get out of our country.

You can't prove, without a doubt, the future. You can prove the probability of something, though.

Militant fundamentalists are in the minority and Bush will be out of office soon. I don't see a real threat here. I am, however, still worried about how much of a role religion plays in some states, whether it be political or laws.

Every time the christian majority tries to create laws that match their religious beliefs, we come a step closer. And it's not just the Atheists who wish to stop that march.

The "administration" has ordered the guide at the Grand Canyon to stop telling people that the canyon was formed over millions of years by river erosion. Since the "administration" is brain dead religious fanaticals they are insistant that the world is only 6000 years old. It apparently just appeared one day and we had the grand canyon.

Well, Jefferson said "Christianity is the most perverted system shone on man."

And our current president says the Christian God told him to invade Iraq. He also gives federal funding to churches, and is pushing for a constitutional amendment to inshrine homophobic bigotry into the Constitution, based on his faith.

That's pretty solid evidence of a trend, isn't it?

This is not a Christian nation and never has been. Unfortunately, our government has been corrupted by religion. Hopefully, the good voters of this country, having seen so many good examples of christian love, will correct that come next election.

3)the various bills trying to make abortion illegal due to religious beliefs regarding it
4) in TX you cannot run for office unless you profess to believe in the ONE God
5)adding "In God we Trust" and "under God" to the pledge and money in the 1950's
6)tax benefits for those who chose to marry....except it is only the 'biblical' definition of marriage and love that are accepted

LOTS of things are against the constitution...yet we are seeing them happen in this government....the constitution has been severely trampled as of late.

There is no proof, since we cannot read the future. However, if you want to hear evidence to support that theory, read "It Can Happen Here."

Or just open your eyes. That might work too.

Why would atheists be able to prove that? Does your religion teach atheists have time machines?
You can't prove a guess about the future.
