write him a note and tape it to his locker or give it to a friend to deliver, walk by and drop it on his books or stick in one of his books where he can see it.
Believe me I do know its very hard I have been struggling with it for years. between the two of you you have to find common ground and meet in the middle or all could be lost and it could be a very long time before you meet again
