why my no bake cookies didn't turn out right? They won't "set". They stay gooey. I boiled the sugar-cocoa-butter mixture for exactly one minute like the recipe said, but they still turned out to be a gooey mess! What am I doing wrong??

You're not boiling the mixture long enough. It usually takes 3 - 5 minutes to get it to the "soft ball" stage. Test the mixture by dropping a 1/2 teaspoon or so into ice cold water. If you can form a ball with your fingers, it's ready to take off the heat. If not, boil another minute or so. ;-)

Heres a good recipe!
2cups sugar 1/4cup butter
3tbsp cocoa 1/2 cup milk
Boil one minute. Remove from hear. Add:
3 cups oatmeal 1tsp vanilla
1/2 cup peanut butter. drop quickly on wax paper
It took me a while to get this recipe down but if u do it right it works. While boiling cook on medium heat when about 30 seconds left start adding peanut and take off burner.

Recipes for no-bake cookies usually recommend a temperature the liquid needs to be brought up to (soft ball stage lower than hard ball stage), so I had to go out and buy a candy thermometer. I used to make my favorite no-bake cookies with no prob in MI but now in CO at this altitude it became impossible without this tool.

Sorry for your problem. Maybe you added to much liquid it happens. But start with something easy. Like a cook book for kids. I know your like what but it will help you to figure out what you did wrong. It okay to miss up all good cook do bad in the begin but with practice your cookies will be off the chain.
