That's a tough one. Maybe get it in writing for your 5th or 10th anniversary. Men will agree if it's a far away date, that's the way to trick him! ;o)

well it was easy for me to convince my husband and i even still got my parents to pay for it. But our circumstances were unusual in todays world. We had a civil marriage because we are military and had found a house and needed to act on it and had to be married to get the money for it. But i was raised reglious and had my heart set on an outdoor wedding with a pastor and all my family. I basically told my husband and my parents that we could have a civil marriage but i wouldn't sleep with him until we had a wedding with a pastor and my family. He said that was cool, since we had already waited a year anyway, and my parents said that if i really wouldn't give him any than they would go ahead and continue planing my real wedding with me. Now we celebrate march 15th or May 20th. May 20th is our real aniversy at least too us, but we celebrate which ever one he's home for.

How long have you been married? I would say if it's less then one year or going on the 10 year mark or more then suggest a vow renewal. Anything in between I think is tacky, save your money and take a nice romantic honeymoon or second honeymoon it would be more worth it then shoveling out for a ceremony that you don't actually need since you're already married. Unless it's a big anniversary.

Realize this is a vow renewal & not a wedding. You cannot expect the same pre-wedding parties & wedding gifts.
If having a church ceremony is that important to you, tell your husband. But you can't force him.

Just ask. Explain its important to you. My sister lives in Colorado and is by colorado law married, but they are having the ceremony next April. My fiance and I are having our ceremony (with a minister) in August, but are getting our marriage certificate in two weeks, legally we'll be married even though we are having our ceremony later. You can have a ceremony anytime, just talk to him. Take care, good luck!!!

men think church weddings are a bunch of crap, they would much rather have a couple kegs of beer, BBQ and have some fun, woman love the romance of the church wedding,,

Put on your sexiest baby doll (or whatever else he really likes) and then broach it in the most seductive way, telling him that you would like it just as much as he would like you now.

Just explain to him how important it is to you, and explain that even though it might not be his cup of tea, it will make you extremely happy!

Ask him to do it and explain it would mean a lot to you. If he doesn't want to, you can't make him of course. Accept his decision.
